Firefox
Some reasons why Firefox rocks:
Browsing in Tabs
Allows you to load pages into separate tabs.
You can bookmark a group of tabs. e.g. you can open 5 different web sites and
bookmark them all with one click. (select Bookmarks, Add, and tick
the "File as group" option.)
Popup Windows
Disable all those annoying PopUp and PopUnder adverts.
Ad Blocking
You can block all images from a server (e.g. a banner advert site) simply right
click the image and "Block images from" (this server)
Settings
Change your mind about any configuration changes you apply
- rather than a bunch of cryptic keys hidden in the registry somewhere, most
settings can be edited
right under the Tools menu.
For advanced settings type about:config into
the URL bar.
Skins
The default appearance of Firefox is pretty uninspiring, but I guess this
is to encourage you to install one of the many cool themes available.
Google
Set google as the default search in the sidebar, address
bar and context menu.
Saving pages
Firefox allows IE style saving of HTML pages with or without graphics attached,
but takes this a step further - you can context click and "View Page Info,
Media" - this will list all the images, Media files, Flash etc
and allow you to save individual files.
You can also select part of a page and context click to "view
selection source".
Performance
Even before you disable popups, Firefox is as fast if not faster than
IE - to test this try loading the same page in each browser, but clear the
cache
first
so
you
get
a fair comparison.
