Some Word and Excel templates you may find useful:

Bytes.xls - Quick conversion of MB.. GB, GiB, TB etc

TimePlanner.xls - Track appointments for multiple people or resources in Excel. Small enough to fit on a floppy disk - so plans can be sent around via email. One spreadsheet covers one year - one month per page.

Calendar.dot - Calendar with a macro to fill in the correct dates for any month.

Shifts.xls - Work out shift patterns for groups of staff.
This demonstrates the use of fractions to display part of an hour e.g. 4 1/2 hours. As published by PC Mag UK in 1997.

Apportionment.xls - Budget Allocation - Although mostly known to accountants, this technique can be useful anywhere you need to parcel out new resources in proportion to the existing allocation, e.g. disk quotas.

Benfords Law.xls - Spot fradulent transactions in data, simple example of Benford's Law

Charts.ZIP - Excel Charting - add new rows of data and the chart will automatically update.

Procedure.dot - Number paragraphs like 1.5.1 – 1.5.2 – 1.6.0

UK Company Car Tax Calculator.xls - Updated July 2005 - UK CO2 Tax.

NightOutCalculator.xls - See the effect that varying levels of alcohol might have on you.

OrgChart.pps - Animated Organisation Chart (you need Powerpoint XP for this one)

Some of the files above include VBA macros - to run these either save to your TEMPLATES folder or set Macro Security to Medium.
